Hate Week heating up

I have to admit, I was worried this year's game against Nebraska would lack some of the fire that's been burning behind the game the past few seasons. I expected Nebraska to be in a major rebuilding year (which they are). I also kinda thought maybe some of the players and fans wouldn't be as chippy as in years past. I certainly didn't expect them to roll over and I definitely didn't expect winning in Lincoln to be a cakewalk or anything. But I thought it might be difficult to conjure up the same level of hate toward the Huskers as I have been in the past.

Fortunately, that has not been the case. First we got Mr. (un)Lucky's anger issue. And now we've got those crazy Huskers talking about literally shutting out the greatest offense in college football. Good luck with that one guys.

Yep, this game should have no shortage of smack talk come Saturday. Check out these quotes from the Missourian:
  • "You can't get caught up in the bulletin board material, but we appreciate the bulletin board material."-Sean Weatherspoon
  • "It gives us a little more confidence. It gives us an edge, because we know guys are out there talking smack about us, and we just want to show guys what we can do."-Once again, courtesy of Spoon.
  • "If we go out there and take care of business as a defensive front and take care of the line of scrimmage, then we'll be able to talk it up a little bit."-One more time, Mr. Spoon
  • "We try not to make comments like that. You can use them for fuel if you want. I do."-Brock Christopher
  • "Somebody might say a little something to him (Lucky) about it."-Carl Gettis
