It's official; we are podcast virgins no more. After figuring some stuff out on Talkshoe, which Bobo the retarded monkey boy could have figured out 10 minutes before I did, we got it done.
It's the first Mizzourah/Rock M Nation Podcast. It's about 30mins long and is all over the board; Chase Daniel Slob-a-thon, concerns for the season, Illannoy game, practice/depth chart thoughts, how badass Andrew Gachkar is, and how Texas Tech is as fake as Sleezy's ex-wife's boobs.
There is going to be few ways to grab the podcast; of course on Mizzourah and Rock M Nation, there will be a podcast archive to the right, and also we went all big time and posted it on iTunes (I think. Apple is confusing). You can also RSS/Subscribe to the podcast outside of iTunes. You can click on the below hyperlink to download it as an Mp3 or you can listen to it by pressing the big "Play" button below this post, genius.
Mp3 DOWNLOAD HERE. Right-click, Save as, blah blah blah.

Great work man. If I were to find it on itunes what would I need to search?
I'm not 100% yet. iTunes was taking a long time, and I think it was going to be a bit before it uploaded to iTunes. I'm w/o iTunes on this computer, but I'll check when I get home and make an edit to the post when I figure out exactly what it is.
Maybe try 'Mizzourah', 'Rock M Nation' or 'Big Head' or something in the search box in the iTunes store. Let me know if you find anything.
Sounds pretty good when I listened to it earlier.
I'll think about listening to this later, but right now my mind is still preoccupied.
I can't find it on iTunes either, but I'm sure it just takes a little bit for iTunes to list your cast for the first time. No big deal, though.
I may have to re-upload to iTunes. Not too sure. I'll try and figure it out tonight. Either way, you can download it right here. If I can't get it on iTunes this time around, it will be on there for #2. Hee hee, I said "number two".
So I didn't have any ham so I listened to the podcast.
Holy mother of blow jobs! I'm surprised I could hear you guys talk with Chase Daniel's cock in your mouths!
Pretty well done. Shockingly professional.
For you podcast newbies out there...if big head et al. can provide us with the link of the xml file used to upload it to iTunes, you can go to Advanced in iTunes, click on "Subscribe to podcast..." and enter the link there. I know this from having to set up a podcast at my place of employment for covering local sports in Montana.
Now, the big question...do you guys know what I'm talking about re: the xml feed? Or did I just lose you all?
...Bueller?...
Big Head has been handling all the technical aspects of this thing so he'll have to answer. Me? I'm totally lost.
iTunes info for nerds: According to iTunes and Talkshoe, it takes 3 biz days to get it uploaded. Maybe this is just because it's the first time? That's what it sounds like from the Talkshoe side.
Steve- Here's what you're talking about:
http://recordings.talkshoe.com/rss81068.xml
You say you can subscribe with just the xml and iTunes will auto-download it for you? Give us the info.
Yeah, if you have the location on the server of the xml file, you can drop that into iTunes and subscribe to it that way, without going through the iTunes store. Going through the store is generally preferred in the long run, since you'll more likely to increase your audience cause listeners can find your podcast when searching for mizzou, college football, etc.
Anyway, I tried using the link you gave me, and it worked. There's a few points of clarification that I'm not sure about, and I'll get to those in a minute. First, here's what you do...
1) Copy this link.
http://recordings.talkshoe.com/rss81068.xml
2) Open iTunes.
3) Click on Advanced on your menu bar, go down to "Subscribe to podcast..."
4) Paste the link there.
iTunes should start downloading it automatically into Podcasts. Then, in the future, when we're graced with new episodes, so long as that xml file is updated accordingly to show the new episode exists, your iTunes will check that xml file daily (or however long you choose to set it to check, that can be adjusted in the settings), and if there's a change in the xml file, iTunes will look for and download the new episode.
Having said all that...I've never used talkshoe before, so that's a new concept. Big Head, did you create the xml file yourself? Did talkshoe make it for you? I'm assuming you have access to the feed yourself so you can update it after each new episode.
When it comes down to it, to submit a podcast to the iTunes store, the first thing they ask you for is the link to the xml feed, and that's the same link you're using in the "Advanced, subscribe to podcast" method I detailed above.
Talkshoe provided the xml link, Steve. I wonder if iTunes will automatically update the new ones, or if we'll have to wait the "up to 3 business days" that iTunes says. I imagine I'll have to provide the link every time, but we'll see.
Technology is great, yet sucks! HAHA. I think after we knock another one of these out, we'll have a lot of the questions answered.
i'm betting $100 this turns into a 3 minute mizzou talk/27 minute "you know how i know you're gay?" podcast by mid-september.
I love Mizzou football, but shit, that was long. Next time I will vollunteer to get real drunk and get me on there. Hook a cousin up...
once the podcast shows up on the itunes store, it shouldn't take more than a day to post, provided the xml file you provided to iTunes is updated to show the new podcast is available. If I remember correctly, iTunes store checks that xml file once a day, so the podcast on the store gets updated once a day as well. re: itunes on your computer downloading the most recent podcast, that depends on user settings (how often you want iTunes to check the xml file).
