Ian Kinsler's dream season is coming to a premature end. The former Tiger and current Texas Rangers second baseman was leading Major League Baseball in hits and runs but was placed on the 15-day disabled list on Monday with a sports hernia that could require season-ending surgery.
Kinsler was a relative no-name prior to this season (I didn't even realize he was an ex-Tiger until this year) but made people notice him after a monster first half. He was named the MVP of the American League for the first half of the season by Jayson Stark at the All-Star break.
If his season is finished he will end up with a .319 batting average, 18 home runs, 71 RBIs, 102 runs and 26 SBs. Possibly the best individual season by any former Tiger?

Phil Bradley is somewhere crying. Kinsler is a stud. Crow has that kind of major league potential from the bump though.
Looking forward to seeing Kinsler in a Cards uni in a few years :)
I friggin' love Kinsler. He's my man. He transfered to MU after he lost his starting position at Az. State back in the day. He's a lot of fun to watch out there. You best not take him from me, Head. He's all the Mizzou I've got down here. :-p
Kinsler is the man- we have been following him ever since he signed his contract with his agent while my husband waited on him at Chili's.
Come on Mary, you've stolen Crow now...even though it's a minor league in Fort Worth!
And that Chili's story is sweet. HAHA
no one gives an eff about the Cats. C'mon man. I even turned one of my Mizzou shirts into a Kinsler shirt with his old Mizzou number. Its almost an obsession. :-o
Sounds like we're about 100 yards from a restraining order. You sure you're not on the banned list from the Ballpark in Arlington? Or are you just using Josh Hamilton as your front? Yeah yeah, Josh Hamilton...that guy.
haha, I love Hamilton too.
