Sticking with the spirit of Big Head's gambling post a few inches down, Vegas has released the opening point spreads for the first week of college football games. It has Mizzou listed as a 7 1/2 point favorite over Illanoy.
I'm taking the over on that one. Maybe I'll get more nervous as August 30 rolls around but right now I fully expect us to handle the Illini. Maybe that sounds cocky but the only reason I think that is because I'm positive every single member of the football team has at least heard about the U of I morons chanting BCS after they beat us in basketball at Scottrade Center. I'd have paid a lot of money to been able to see the sly little smirk Gary Pinkel was probably flashing as he listened to those clowns chanting. It's not very often you have bulletin board material like that giftwrapped for you.

When I saw the 7.5, I thought the same thing...will Wells Fargo ok a loan because I'm about to double that shit. 7.5?? REALLY??
Illini can't hang with anyone other than tOSU, and that was with Mendenhall. Dufrene is no Rashard Mendenhall, and I don't expect Eddie McGee to see the field this year. McGee was the only reason that was a game last year. I'm saying Illannoy is 8-4/7-5 this year. No way can they be better than last year.
