Gold Rush '08 has been announced for the Illannoy game. Now, I'm not the genius that I appear to be, but I'm not sure how smart it is to have one of your full-scale "Lets get involved" promotions at a neutral site game. Granted, the Illini can't sell tickets to save their lives so it'll be a largely pro-Mizzou crowd, but there will still be Orange in the crowd. Last year's Gold Rush game was against the Cornies, and it was ALL gold. Even poppa Big Head was rockin' gold, which made it look like a shitty Chevy Cavalier that needed to be towed was in the seats around the 10yd line.
I do think the T-shirts for the game kick ass, especially the picture on the back of the shirt (posted above). Looks like I'll be springing another $30 for Miss Head and myself for this game.
Now get back to BBQ'ing and drinking!

Greatness.
I have to say that seeing these two become football powers blows my mind. But goddammit, beat those big 10 assholes Missouri.
'Illini' and 'football power' STILL don't fit together. I remember watching Robert Holcombe run for about 7yrs on that squad. I hate the Illini.
Illinois is not a football power, they are just a decent team in a terrible BCS conference.
I'll probably try to score some tickets for this game and wear one of the random yellow Mizzou t-shirts Mizzou was gracious enough to give me for free during my freshman Fall Welcome and every year after that because hell no I'm not buying a shirt. That money's for beer.
I am also surprised that we're having our Gold Rush in neutral territory. But Illini fans have a shitty turnout every year, so I reckon it'll work out. You all will just have to beat the crap out of the orange shirts. Check their asses into the walls if you can.
