It's my obligatory June basketball post. The powers that be have told me to put something together...wait...I'm the head writer. What am I doing? With that being said, over the past three months I've stared at stats like a 12yr old getting a hold of a Playboy, and I've broken down exactly where all Tigers are going in the NBA Draft. You thought Mel Kiper had it down for the NFL Draft and Screamin' A. Smith was good on the NBA Draft? They've got nothing on me. I'm guaranteeing I can pick which team and the exact draft spot that our Tigers are going in for the '08 NBA Draft.

Yep, you've got it. Freakin' cricket chirps. Kalen Grimes is the only one with his name in the draft. HAHAHA. I almost made it all the way through that sentence before laughing. Sorry man, hee hee. I just...can't...stop.....
I have a better chance of hitting the Powerball twice in a week than finding a Mizzou fan willing to talk basketball in June. Mention 'Mizzou Basketball' any time between now and September and someone in a Hazmat suit should show up with a bullhorn telling you "Move along. Nothing to see here".
Even though the team has been in the shitter for the past five years, like Cousin Eddie said, let's hope "Shitter's Full" and get out of the funk. Looking at what teams are losing in the B12 in this NBA Draft, Mizzou has the chance to move out of the outhouse and into the Penthouse next year (2 skin rag mentions, one post- CHECK!). kU is losing most of their squad, Texas bids adieu to DJ Augustin, K-State gets rid of Beasley and Bill Walker, and Mizzou all of a sudden can recruit. Peep their incoming class for '08-'09, and we're sitting pretty nice. Sure, I wish Leo Lyons would have taken Tony Temple's sloppy seconds (read comments. Strange if true) and rode off into the sunset this year, but he didn't. We automatically get better by putting down graduating Darryl Butterfield, but that's too easy.
Mizzou Basketball '08 baby! You with me?!!!

You know I'm with you! I have this retarded sense of cautious optimism that I've never really had for Mizzou Basketball. I will be disappointed, as per usual.
I'm totally an idiot for wanted to talk Mizzou Basketball right now considering that they actually had to stop admitting Freshman this year and will have the largest Freshman class possibly ever (I say possibly because I don't feel like looking it up) and it's all (obviously) thanks to our football team.
Leo Lyons WILL get drafted next year, mark my words. He'll be a late first rounder if he develops a defensive game.
Oh yeah, and the whole Leo Lyons taking Temple's sloppy seconds... he pretty much was fucking nonstop our freshman year... the amount of nights that Matt Lawrence was locked out of their room was retard... and hilarious.
I think cautious optimism is called for when contemplating the 08/09 season.
