Darrell Arthur, High School Dropout

The big NCAA news outside OJ Mayo getting bones for playing at USC is kU's Darrell Arthur may have had his grades changed throughout high school. As great of a story as it is that Arthur may not have graduated high school and kU still gives him a scholarship, and there are only two things I hate more than cancer (Nebraska and kU), this really pains me to say...

kU can't be held accountable.

I'll clean up the puke on my keyboard, and yeah, it hurts to say. Sure, I'd love to throw some kU scandal over to our friends at kU- It's Business Time, but it's not Kansas' fault. Look at it from the actual perspective- the kid supposedly had the grades when he was coming in, when in fact, he knew that he didn't before kU offered the full ride.

Now, you may be saying "It's fucking Kansas!", "Quantrill should have destroyed Kansas so this would have never happened" and "OJ Mayo and Reggie Bush may have screwed USC. How's kU any different?" Here is the huge difference; unless kU knew, which I doubt they did (hell, they still think they outplayed Mizzou at Arrowhead!), Arthur pulled a Ferris Bueller in high school...not at kU. Mayo and Bush got paid while at USC.

This is the 2nd time that this particular HS effed up, so it's on Arthur and the high school. Sure, kU got duped if it is true, and the fact is they would have played with an ineligible player. But it's like your girlfriend/wife cheating on you; you had no idea, so you can't blame yourself. It's that slut's fault. The slut is Darrell Arthur.

Oh, and yes, I still hate kU.
