This relationship is about to end. For the past month, we've been together...me and you...you and me. I don't know what I'd do without you. Sure, I've been tempted by outside things, but I've always stuck with you and vice versa. Honestly, this has been one of the best months around; Cardinals opened up and are on fire and you...I love you spring football. What am I going to do without you until August?
Originally, I wrote this about a Blimpie's Meatball sandwich, but it fits. Ok, I'll man up now. Here are some things to look for during Saturday's spring game;
-Crowd? Should be huge- garage sale, nice weather, expectations larger than Rosie O'Donnell's waist. Nubs are drawing close to 80k to theirs on Saturday (reportedly). Last time they had a crowd like this was Cally's first year. Nice omen.
-How many recruits will be there and who will they be? Spring games are used as recruiting tools. I imagine most of the '09 class will be in attendance, and hopefully some like Montee Ball and TJ Moe. Hit the message boards on Friday night/Saturday for a complete list. SMS should have the best list.
-It will be an offensive showcase with our defense weaker than a cheerleader's on prom night. Van Alexander and Sean Weatherspoon are both out at LB, of course Connell Davis quit the team and Marquis Booker liked guns a weee too much. Gilbert Moye may also be out.
-On defense, all eyes should be on the secondary; Willy Mo looks to dominate and Del Howard could have a shot to replace Pig Brown.
-Stryker Sulak, defensive captain? It could happen, possibly along with Willy Mo.
-Expect Chase Daniel to play the entire game? Not a chance. It will be nice to see Chase Patton a final time, and to see if Dominic Grooms has what it takes to hold off Blaine Gabbert in the fall.
-RB battle. Who will replace Tony Temple? Derrick Washington, Jimmy Jackson, or even *gasp* Earl Goldsmith.
-Gissy Face! will be trying to grab a starting TE spot next to Chase Coffman.
Remember, this game will be on the U at 1p on Saturday. You can hit up TigerBoard for initial pre and post game shit talking. Are you a black or a gold guy? Either way, you're gonna get hated on! Over/Under is 4:18p for the first "Fire Pinkel" posting on Saturday.

Am I too gay if I say that Gissy Face is my favorite Missouri fan ever. (besides Shawn Garrison, he is my second fave gay Missouri dude).
Gissy Face! isn't just a fan...he's our longsnapper.
You can wash the gayness off at the Razzle.
First of all, to address sammy vegas, talk all the smack that you want but I wasn't the one caught kissing my starting LB like someone was *cough* SAM KELLER *cough*. And no amount of trash talk will change what happened on 10.6.07. Bitch.
And a couple points about the spring game, Spoon is actually planning to play last I heard and is having surgery after the spring game. And Goldsmith has actually switched to WR this spring but De'Vion Moore has been having a HUGE spring and is probably going to get some carries next season.
I like Moore, but I've heard comparisons to Marcus Woods. I meant to put him in that line about RBs, but totally blanked.
Are you sure on Spoon? I thought I read in the P-D that he was out. If he's not out, I don't want to see him in there much...if any. He's going to be the defensive glue on that unit along with Willy Mo. It's practice. Don't get hurt in the long run!
Does anyone see Goldsmith getting PT at receiver? At best, he'll be a 4th receiver, a stretch since he's just learning the spot.
And Sammy's messing with you.
Long snapper? That's hot!
I thought I had read that Spoon's mom was flying in from Texas so he was going to go ahead and play but I could be wrong.
And no, Goldsmith isn't going to get much playing time no matter where he's at. It's hard to believe that he's just a season removed from starting at RB in our biggest game of the '06 season (@ Nebraska).
Fly in from Texas for a PRACTICE? That's almost as dumb as driving from Omaha to Columbia for it...oh, I thought about doing that.
By the way, peep www.inthebleachers.net. Sak did a good job on an Allen Iverson Spring Football post. HAHA
Big Head-
If you decide to wing it down to Lincoln today or tomorrow look up me and the Roses. we will be at The Night Before, if not then with hooks at the Embassy Suites.
Sammy-
I'm interested in going to Lincoln this weekend as much as I am about getting a hole in my head. If you're tailgating, hit up the LJ-Star lot and drink a Silo cup or 12 of Whiskey and Cokes for me. Kinda interested- have tickets or are you hoping to find a pair?
Working tonight, then I have a hot date of "Walking with Dinosaurs" at 11a at Qwest on Saturday, Mizzou on da U, then a pair of Royales with Cheese tickets at the Blatt on Saturday night. May be interested in heading out Saturday after the Royals game.
Chevelle/Finger Eleven show at Sokol Sunday night.
We actually have a spot in LJS parking lot complete with 40 inch flatscreen and three coolers and a million cases of Busch Light brought in on the white horse. Nothin' but the best. Real Tomatoe ketchup Eddy?
Ill be horroring myself around the college girls this weekend so my spring game post should be complete with photos only even if I have worn out Cho.
10.06.07 was a bad day. we did get bitch slapped. but when you are 63-35 vs. Missouri lifetime and you have enough championship rings to fit five fingers it kind of takes the sting out.
(btw, nice Old Navy sweater. was that the fall '05 or spring '06 catalog you go that from?)
When you haven't won a title in over a decade the "We have more national championships than you" argument is really weak.
And you're 31 and bragging about hangin out with college kids? Get a job.
A football championship the past 10 years is in impressive to anyone - regardless you are Div 1, Div 1-AA, Div 2, NAIA, etc. Win one in football, basketball, baseball, or anything and let me know. Better yet, go 61-3 in a five year span and win 3 national championships.
And as far as being 31 and hanging out with college girls, they seem to like older guys with doctorates as opposed to 21 year old guys with general studies majors who live on ramen noodles and write blogs.
I'll take offense to the Ramen/blog comment. I just got done eating a Roasted Chicken Ramen and, well, now I'm checking MY blog. :)
Then again, I'm not in college anymore. I hate that I like a 10 cent meal!
Shawn, dude, you should know that I am fucking around. I dont care about anything. As Big Head will confirm, he hates Nebraska, I hate Missouri but we both enjoy the each others views on football. Don't take offense and let me know what your blog site is. I'll check it out and try and not leave to of offensive posts on there. JK. :)
Big Head-
By the way, i lost my camera charger this weekend at our tail gate. Am buying a new charger during lunch and will be proof positive that you shouldn't blow a hole through your head if you ever wanted to come down to lincoln for our tailgate. we know good looking girls and free vodka, gin, and rum - even though most nights we hold off until 12 to pay for it. lol.
I can safely comfirm both Sammy Vegas and my beliefs- I hate the Huskers (and live in this damn state), and he hates the Tigers more than when Shawn Kemp writes out child support checks.
And yeah, he's fucking around...I do it on his (DXP) blog all the time. Shawn's site is Big MO Sports. It's a Friend of the Family on the right side.
SV- How much did you end up paying for tickets and hookers Saturday?
Tickets...free.
Tailgate...free.
Hookers... wouldnt even pay attention to us.
After 10 beers, 5 red bull vodkas, 8 sapphire tonics and an id to confirm my birthday was actually 4/20. 400.
Not priceless.
Yeah man, I wasn't taking your smack talk seriously and I hope you weren't taking mine personally either. I'm a Mizzou fan and you're a Nebraska fan. We're SUPPOSED to talk trash. It's not personal (unless we're talking about the '97 game).
But like big head said, my blog is Big MO Sports and I'm writing it for my online journalism class (although I may keep it going once the semester's over). Feel free to add it to the links of your blog and I'll add yours to mine.
Shawn-
I'd keep your blog going. Find someone on TB to help you with it so you don't have to be the only writer. There's very few good Mizzou blogs out there, and you're on to something.
